Design
The adapter between the headset and the radio is crucial for communication. The adapter has the PTT button to activate communication, so it must be well accessible and manageable at all times, but without getting in the way. It is normally exposed to rough treatment and harsh climates, so it must be very robust.
The FL4000 series adapters are an alternative to the current FL5000 series PTT adapters for connecting 3M™ Peltor™ headsets to communication radios. They have a smaller size than the FL5000 adapter, a robust design, and the PTT button has a more effective pressure feel. They also have jack detection, which returns sound to the radio when the headset is disconnected, if the radio supports this feature.

The PTT button is logically positioned and specially designed for easy use even with thick gloves.

The entire adapter, especially the contacts, are designed to keep the circuits safe from moisture.
Holding clamp
Behind the device is a solid clamp that can be rotated 360º, making it flexible and easy to use in all situations.

Durable Connectors
The cable reinforcement and jack chassis have been tested to withstand being plugged, unplugged and bent at least 100,000 times.
