Helicopter/Rescue
Professional rescue fiberglass helmet ICARO2000 PRO-COPTER (REGA II). Headsets not included.
Developed on commission from the Swiss "Rega" rescue service, it is not used by the helicopter pilots, but by the doctors who have to rescue injured people. The doctors are inside the helicopter or on the outside winch. So they never receive a horizontal air flow directly from the front, but only from above.
Shell made of fiberglass composite material with Certification E.N. 966 This helmet should be used only by pilots flying in an enclosed cockpit. When closed, the visor is integrated inside the helmet, between the fiberglass shell and the polystyrene. As the visor is very short, it is not suitable for pilots flying paramotors or open microlights. In such craft, the airflow reaching the pilot causes uncomfortable turbulence between the visor and the eyes.
PRO-COPTER (Rega II: Helmet used by the Austrian and Swiss Rega air rescue service), a helmet built using the same technology as in military applications, including high-modulus glass fibre and high-density polystyrol to guarantee the highest possible standards of safety.
When closed, the visor is integrated and protected inside the helmet, between the fiberglass shell and the polystyrene.
Short transparent or brown-tinted visor, easy to change just with one screw.
The size of a helmet is always described by the inner circumference of the internal padding.
The size number therefore corresponds to the head circumference in centimetres.
This helmet has a luxury internal padding that can be replaced by larger or smaller padding pieces, thus varying the helmet size.
If the helmet is not a perfect fit, it is possible change the internal padding to other different size more suitable.
The important advantage: you can easily remove the padding and replace it with a new one or just wash it.
The Rega II model has been tested by the italian laboratory Newton a company authorized by the Italian Ministry of Transport and recognized by the German TUV.
All our helmets are designed especially for free flight and micro light pilots, in accordance with the European standards (EN 966).
Our helmets were designed and built specifically to be as light as possible. However they optimize safety for hang glider, paraglider and micro light pilots, as shown by the information above.
The weight of a fiber glass helmet has a tolerance of +/- 50 grams due to the glue applied and to the thickness of the fiber glass layers.
On this professional helmet we recomend to mount any electronic headsets with attachment PELTOR P3E compatible.
